About ITI:
Industrial Training Institutes and Industrial Training Centers are post-secondary schools in India constituted under Directorate General of Employment & Training (DGET), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Union Government to provide training in various trades. The Directorate General of Training (DGT) initiated Craftsmen Training Scheme in 1950. Training periods range from six months to two years in over 130 different specialties. Prerequisites for the courses range from 8th to 12th class pass. Upon completion of the training, trainees write the All India Trade Test (AITT). Successful candidates receive the National Trade Certificate (NTC). Admission to the various trades is done every year in August. The admission procedure is started before the commencement of the new session. Sessions under this scheme start from the 1st August. Under the NCVT guidelines admission in ITIs is made on merit based/written examination. Admission to the private ITIs is done directly.

AP ITI Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification:
- The academic qualification prescribed for the trade varies from class VIII pass to Class XII pass depending upon the trade.
Age Relaxation:
- There is no objection to the state government/union territory administration making necessary relaxation of upper age limit up to 45 years in the case of ex-servicemen.
- Relaxation of upper age limits up to 45 years permissible in the case of war widows.
- Widows/separated women would be allowed to join various training programmers under C.T.S. up to the age of 35 years.
- The upper age limit for physically handicapped candidates has been relaxed by 10 years and kept as 35 years on the date of start of admission session.
