CAU Profile :

Central Agricultural University is an agricultural university at Iroisemba, Imphal in the Indian state of Manipur.

The Central Agricultural University was established by an act of Parliament, the Central Agricultural University Act 1992 (No.40 of 1992). The Act came into effect on 26 January 1993 with the issue of necessary notification by the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), Government of India. The university became functional with the joining of the first vice-chancellor on 13 September 1993.

The jurisdiction of the university extends to six North-Eastern Hill States: Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Sikkim and Tripura. It offers undergraduate teaching (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) and postgraduate teaching (M.V.Sc.), research and extension activities at College of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry, Selesih, Aizawl, Mizoram. It offers B.Sc. (Agril) every year and M.Sc. (Agril) in Agronomy, Plant Pathology, Horticulture, Plant Breeding and Genetics, Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, and Entomology. It imparts teaching in the field of horticulture, fisheries, Agricultural Engineering, and Food Technology in various constituent colleges spanning north-eastern states.

CAU Horticulturist (SRO), Field & Lab Technician, Jr Clerk, Mali recruitment required Education Qualifications Details:

• Horticulturist (SRO) :Candidate must have
  i) Master’s degree in relevant subject with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade point.
  ii) Good academic record with Ph.D. degree in the relevant discipline.
  iii) A minimum of eight years experience of teaching/research/extension education as Assistant Professor or equivalent position.
  iv) Contribution in research/teaching/extension education as evidenced by published work innovations and outcome.
  v) Published work in the form of at least 5 scientific papers in journals of repute with four and above NAAS rating. Desirable : Contribution to educational innovations, design of new curricula and courses and development of technology-mediated teaching-Darning resources.
• Field Technician: Candidate must have Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture from a recognized University. Desirable:  If Candidate have M.Sc. Agriculture in Pomology.
• Lab Technician: Candidate must have Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture from a recognized University. Desirable: Candidate must have M.Sc. Agriculture in Pomology.
• Junior Clerk: Candidate must have Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University with typing speed of 30 wpm. Desirable: Working knowledge of computer
• Mali: Candidate must have 10th passed with good physique. Proficiency in the concerned trade.
