Sindhudurg is an administrative district in the state of Maharashtra in India, which was carved out of the erstwhile Ratnagiri District. The district headquarters are located at Oros (ओरस). The district occupies an area of 5207 km² and has a population of 849,651 of which 12.59% were urban (as of 2011).As of 2011 it is the least populous district of Maharashtra.

Sindhudurg district is 5.207 sq km. It is spread in the area. The district has a population of around 8,68,825 as per census of 2001. The city is the headquarters of Sindhudurg district have been modernized. The district is east of the Arabian Sea, the Belgaum District (Karnataka) and Goa surrounded by the north district. The nearest airports are at Ratnagiri, Belgaum (Karnataka) and Dabolim (Goa).
