ESIC SSO Phase-I Preliminary Exam Pattern: The Preliminary exam will be of 100 marks consisting of 100 objective type multiple choice question for 1 Hour. There will be negative marking for each wrong answer of one-fourth of the score assigned to that question will be deducted from total arrive marks. ESIC SSO Phase-1 Exam is qualifying in nature and marks will not be reckoned for final merit. The candidates will be shortlisted for Phase-II about ten times the number of vacancies in each category. Also, the version of the question papers will be in English and Bilingual for the Reasoning & Quantitative Aptitude sections.

ESIC SSO Phase-II Mains Exam Pattern: The ESIC SSO Main Exam will be of total 200 marks consisting of maximum 150 objective type question. Marks obtained in ESIC SSO Phase-2 Examination will be considered for final selection. For each wrong answer, there will be a negative marking of one-fourth of the mark assigned to that question. Candidates will be shortlisted for the Phase-III about five times the number of vacancies in each category.
