About JKBOPEE:
Before 1987 selections for Medical and Engineering courses in the State were made by a designated Government Department in the Civil Secretariat as an additional item of its work. Gradually, the number of students who were appearing in Entrance Examinations increased and, as a consequence, the work of organizing Entrance Examinations also increased. The Government of Jammu and Kashmir, therefore, in the year 1987 constituted a full–time examining body, Competent Authority Entrance Examinations. The purpose of creating a full-time examining body was to organize Entrance Tests in a more transparent and orderly manner on the pattern followed in other parts of the country. The Competent Authority thus constituted performed its task of conducting Entrance Examinations in a fairly satisfactory manner.
In the year 2002, The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations Act was passed by the State Legislature and The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations was constituted under the Act. The Board as setting up under the Act replaced the Competent Authority Entrance Examinations which was existing earlier. The purpose of constituting an examining body for entrance tests by an Act of the Legislature was to invigorate it, so that it might execute the task of selection of candidates independently, objectively and more efficiently. The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations consists of a Chairman and such other members as may be appointed by the Government.
J&K TET Exam Notification 2017:
Jammu and Kashmir Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2017 is an important entrance examination organized by the board of Jammu & Kashmir and it is scheduled according to Jammu Kashmir government rules and regulations. Jammu and Kashmir TET is also called as JKTET 2017. In terms of appointing eligible applicants in major levels of teaching Jammu and Kashmir TET is organized. Selected aspirants are appointed as primary Level Teacher (Class I- V) and upper primary levels of teachers (Class VI- VIII) in approved schools of private and government types schools of Jammu and Kashmir State.
Application Fee:
General Category applicants will need to pay Rs. 800/-
OBC candidate will pay 500/-
SC/ ST/ PWD applicants will pay 400/- through online mode.
Age Limit:
No age limit for this Teacher Eligibility Test.

For the examination of JK TET, the qualification and Eligibility criteria are given below.
- Teacher for Classes I-V (PrimaryLevel)- Candidate must complete his 12th Class/Senior Secondary with 50% marks & Diploma/Bachelor in Elementary Education Course or Equivalent qualification for this job vacancy.
- Teacher for Classes VI-VIII (ElementaryLevel)- For this post aspirants must be completed 12thclass/ Senoir Secondary (SSC) with 50% marks & bachelor In Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed)/ B.A/ B.Sc.Ed/B.A.Ed/ B.Sc.Ed/ Graduate or equivalent with Diploma in Elementary Education/Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) course.
