Admission to Government seats shall be made in accordance with the Karnataka Selection of Candidates for Admission to Government Seats in Professional Educational Institutions Rules, 2006 (in short Rules) as amended from time to time to expand the activities of the CET Cell, the Government by order No. ED. 212 TEC 2006 dated 20-12-2006 has converted the Common Entrance Test Cell into an autonomous body registered under Societies Registration Act 1960 called “Karnataka Examinations Authority” (KEA).

Karnataka Common Entrance Test Qualification And Eligibility Criteria:

Qualification:

  • Candidates must have cleared their Class 12 examination or an equivalent exam with Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subjects.
  • Candidates must have studied English as one of the languages.
  • The candidates need to score at least 45 percent marks in the qualifying examination.
  • If a candidate scores fewer marks in Chemistry than the required aggregate, then, in that case, marks scored by the candidate in biology, biotechnology, computer science, will be taken into account.
  • Those candidates who belong to either Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe or Schedule Caste category Category-I and OBC (2A, 2B, 3A and 3B) category have to secure at least 40 percent marks to be eligible to take up KCET 2018.
  • Those candidates who are waiting for the results of the qualifying examinations are also eligible to take up KCET 2018.

Application Fee:

  • For General/OBC category candidates: Rs.650/-
  • For SC/ST/Category 1 candidates: Rs.500/-
  • Candidates qualifying Pre-University and 12th standard from state other than Karnataka: Rs.750/-

Age Limit:

The candidates who are interested in this position, they are must have completed minimum age of 17 for the academic year.
